# Directions:
01 - Heat a splash of oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
02 - Add diced onion and red bell pepper to the pot and sauté until softened, about 4 to 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
03 - Sprinkle chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, cayenne pepper if using, salt, and black pepper over the meat and vegetables. Stir well to evenly coat ingredients with spices.
04 - Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute to deepen the flavor.
05 - Pour in diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, and beef broth. Stir to combine and bring mixture to a simmer.
06 - Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer gently for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
07 - Taste and modify seasoning as desired. Serve hot with optional toppings such as cheese, sour cream, or fresh herbs.
